Even Quilters have Birthdays

Yes, today is my birthday. I graduated from the 20’s and have moved on to the 30’s. I have heard that they can be the best years, so I’m kinda looking forward to them and all that is ahead.
The festivities started yesterday at work with cheesecake.

The mail held the first and faithful birthday card from my Grandmother.

Then there was an evening filled with laughter and friends, New and old. With talks of books, life and children while enjoying taco salad and cake.

With lovely spring flowers

And fragrant candles and a stack of love filled cards.

Things continued this morning with french toast and grapefruit juice for brunch.

With the sister friends and mom.

Some advice that was shared:
-if something isn’t working for you, don’t be afraid to quit and walk away
-life is fast, take time to enjoy it, take time for dreams and plans, make time for God
-forgive others and yourself
-don’t be afraid to try
-pray about the decisions in life, embrace the paths that you choose knowing you sought God for direction
-be flexible with your dreams

Lots of laughter and some years, with more cards of love and my own personal fortune cookies and a friendly reminder that

After brunch, I stopped in at a local fabric store with my mom that I don’t make it to very often and picked up some fat quarters

And put together a table runner for an upcoming spring raffle. I’m supposed to use my stash for that…but it’s more fun to buy than to dig through a  bucket of fabric to find coordinating pieces. I used this new fun pattern I got last week

And put this together

It’s on the machine ready to be quilted. Then took my dogs for a walk in the beautiful spring day. I did get in a little work and finished up the top of this quilt and prepped the backing.

It’s now ready for the machine.
It was then I took a few moments to search the web for a deal…I found one and with all the love from the cards purchased a long desired mixer in persimmon.

Now I can make cookies and cheesecake without burning up my hand held mixer. I can’t wait for it to arrive. It’s been a good day. Thanks to those that have shared in the celebrations, for your wishes, love and support. Thankful too, to God for making this day happen, without him I wouldn’t be here.
